Our team of dermatologists and skilled nursing professionals are committed to providing the highest level of care using the most up to date dermatology practices. We encompass all aspects of dermatology, including, medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology.

Our dermatologists work closely with your general practitioner and other specialists when needed. We maintain links with an expert group of specialists we can involve in our patients care to ensure they receive the highest standard of care. We value ongoing communication with your medical team and ensure letters and emails are sent in a timely manner to update your doctors. Your confidentiality is important to us, and we maintain high levels of information security within our software and practice.

Dr Kate Newland completed her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Adelaide. Following her internship, Kate spent a year at the Royal Darwin Hospital gaining experience in Indigenous Health. She undertook her dermatology training in Adelaide, working in the major teaching hospitals. Kate spent six months at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and St Vincent's Hospital gaining experience in cutaneous lymphoma, during which time she published articles in several journals.
Kate is a staff specialist at Royal Adelaide Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre, where she runs monthly cutaneous lymphoma clinics, in conjunction with haematology colleagues. In addition, she is a visiting medical specialist at Alice Springs Hospital. Kate is interested in all aspects of medical and surgical dermatology. She is committed to providing a high standard of care to her patients.

Dr Emma Ryan

Dr Emma Ryan graduated from the University of Adelaide and went on to complete General Practice training and worked in general practice with a focus on skin health and paediatrics and at the University of Adelaide as a senior lecturer. Emma undertook dermatology training in Adelaide, working in the major hospitals as well as in Alice Springs Hospital and Darwin Hospital. She has experience working in the UK from a sabbatical in 2019 and continues as a senior lecturer at Adelaide University in Dermatology. She is currently the Head of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Dermatology Department and involved in teaching students and registrars and is a member of the national exam committee for the Australasian College of Dermatologists which is responsible for setting the standard for dermatology practice in Australia. She makes regular trips to Darwin and Regional northern Territory and supports rural and first nations peoples. Dr Emma Ryan is interested in all aspects of dermatology across all ages and is involved in research and has published in dermatology.

Dr Joyce Ma

Dr Joyce Ma graduated from the University of Adelaide with her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). She successfully completed her Basic Physician Training at Flinders Medical Centre before pursuing Dermatology training the following year. As part of her training, she has worked at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, The Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Alice Springs Hospital, and rural Northern Territory. She is a published author in international peer reviewed journals and has presented academic papers at both National and International conferences. She was the recipient of the World Congress of Dermatology scholarship, and the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting scholarship for her performance in her final Dermatology exams.
